Job Description:
Duties: Perform and lead design tasks that create component and assembly
hardware along with the integration of this hardware into higher level
systems. Produce and review other engineers engineering models and
drawings and perform complex tolerance studies. Support all engineering
activities related to product and process development during project phases
in accordance with design controls. Perform System/Mechanical
design, modeling, analysis, and review. Define new product architecture.
Perform feasibility studies and analyze performance. Work directly with
chief engineers, system engineers and program leadership to plan and
executes development projects and/or production hardware deliveries.
Derive requirements and prepare engineering bill of materials and
drawing release plans. Create and/or modify product design, specifications,
drawings, and procedures, CAD models (Solidworks) and Engineering Change
Requests in accordance with quality system procedures. Evaluate technical
input from hardware suppliers and work with a cross functional team on
improvements and cost savings. Candidate will participate and in many
situations be required to lead trade studies, preliminary design and
production support using 3D CAD models. Support and actively participate during
project phase reviews, Risk analysis, DFMEA, PFMEA. Supports R&D team in
order to sustain existing products per program and resource needs. Draft,
enhance, and finalize the system integration plan at various prototype
stages. Perform, assemble, align and adjust optical, mechanical and
fluidic systems. Perform troubleshooting, diagnoses and resolve problems
to component, module level, or system level. Work independently in
a cross-disciplinary environment to plan and execute experiments
using specialized test equipment and performs experimental data
analysis. Contribute to the design and development of test methods
and test protocols. Prepare and present study reports. Perform lab
and office administrative tasks, including test material
acquisition, equipment acquisition, and lab organization.
Facilitate technical problem solving and troubleshooting through
proposed experimentation and alternate designs/approach. Follow GLP
and GMP when executing lab/administrative work. Ensure all
laboratory work is documented in compliance with company policies
and regulatory bodies. Communicate effectively across
organizational functions. Comply with all Quality requirements in a
FDA disciplinary environment to plan and execute experiments using
specialized test equipment and performs experimental data analysis.

Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures and
regulatory requirements. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related
technical engineering discipline (willing to accept foreign education
equivalent) plus five (5) years' progressive experience post-bachelor’s in
design engineering in a laboratory setting. Experience must include
analyzing and interpreting medical device product specifications, technical
procedures, and governmental regulations, and writing reports and procedure
manuals; FMEA, and root cause, tolerance and worst case analysis; working
with SolidWorks 2014-2015 CAD (3D/2D); GD&T (Geometric
Dimensioning and Tolerancing Tolerancing) and DFM (design for manufacturability) and Fluid
Mechanics and Thermodynamics; working on product development stages and
configuration controls; OR alternatively, A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related
engineering technical discipline (willing to accept foreign education
equivalent) and three (3) years' experience progressive post-bachelor’s
experience in design engineering in a laboratory setting, including at least
analyzing and interpreting medical device product specifications,
technical procedures, and governmental regulations, and writing reports
and procedure manuals; FMEA, and root cause, tolerance and worst case
analysis; working with SolidWorks 2014-2015 CAD (3D/2D); GD&T (Geometric
Dimensioning and Tolerancing Tolerancing) and DFM (design for manufacturability) and Fluid
Mechanics and Th Thermodynamics; Working on product development stages and
