Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Cost Analyst to join our Accounting team located in Deerfield Beach, FL. In this role you will be tasked to apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties. Responsibilities: Collects and analyzes cost data, estimates costs, and monitors changes through highly complex Excel worksheets. Determines standard costs and investigates variances. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, prepares month end journal entries and reconciliations for cost and inventory. Ensures that all relevant product costs have been captured. Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures. Prepares detailed management reports that convey relevant and meaningful information about the effects of product mixes, volumes, pricing, etc. on overall profitability of the Company---s product lines and sub-categories as needed. Works with the Purchasing Department to analyze product cost trends based on underlying commodities. Plays key role on the preparation of monthly and annual reporting. Assist with Internal and External audits. Work proactively on being business partner to all functional areas. Assists with related special projects, as required. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and instructions. Other duties as required. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance and four years related experience. Candidates must possess advanced level Excel skills (which includes macros, queries, power pivots, index/match, lookups) Proficiency in other Microsoft office Suite tools is required. Excellent analytical skills. Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures. The position requires the ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment. Requires proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. Ability to use AS400 software or equivalent. Benefits Details MAPEI offers medical coverage options for you and your family.
