(Frontage), is a global contract research organization with broad expertise in supporting pre-clinical and clinical drug development. Frontage operates out of several different locations within the USA, Canada, and China. At Frontage great work is recognized and rewarded! - Deerfield Beach (formerly Ocean Ridge Biosciences) is the newest location for Frontage and is focusing on providing genomics services including whole genome sequencing, metagenomics, polymorphism analysis, and gene expression profiling for applications in drug discovery, PK/PD, companion diagnostics development, and others. The Deerfield Beach lab is looking for Research Scientists with substantial expertise in either flow cytometry, multiplex immunoassays, or NGS - - -based assays or having substantial experience working in immunobiology, mammalian transgenics, genetic engineering, or gene and cell therapy. This is a great opportunity to apply research and development skills to the drug discovery programs of Frontage's clients, making an immediate impact on person's lives as new medications are approved and released on the market. Description: -The Research Scientist will be responsible for the development of new assays at Frontage ' s genomics lab which will fully utilize available equipment at the laboratory which include instrumentation for automated sample extraction, next generation sequencing (NGS), multiplex bead array assays, single cell sequencing, droplet digital qPCR, microfluidic qPCR, exosome characterization, and flow cytometry. The Research Scientist will be dedicated to developing standard operating protocols (SOPs) for lab assays that are required for the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, biomarker discovery, and companion diagnostics needs of Frontage ' s customers. Frontage has several openings available and candidates will be able to develop assays in one or more areas of interest selected from metagenomics, immunogenomics, oncogenomics, epigenetics, transcriptomics, infectious disease, and flow cytometry applications. Primary duties will include designing experiments, performing assays, trouble-shooting, and writing up experimental results. The Research Scientist will deliver analytical reports, working SOPs, and training to the operations group, so that new protocols can be rapidly implemented. The Research Scientist will also be assigned to custom method development and validation projects for specific clients as the need arises. Requirements: The position requires an M.S. or Ph.D. degree related to biological sciences and 3 or more years of full-time experience working in an academic or commercial biomedical laboratory. The experience could have been gained in part or in-whole during research leading up to an M.S. or Ph.D. thesis. Post-graduate and commercial work experience is not required but would be advantageous. Experience working in a for-profit industrial setting is strongly preferred. The selected individual must have experience working with either flow cytometry, multiplex immunoassays, or NGS - based assays or have substantial experience with molecular biology procedures such as quantitative qPCR, digital PCR, epigenetics, transgenics, or viral vector development. A strong intellectual background in one or more topics relevant to the position such as immunology, molecular biology, genomics, genetics, pharmacogenomics, pharmacokinetics, or pharmacodynamics is required. The selected candidate must have proven technical writing ability as evidenced by sample publications, white papers, or reports. The successful candidate must be able to analyze their own data with the assistance of computational biologists and prepare and deliver compelling presentations based on their work. Familiarity with method development and method validation based on FDA guidance, GLP/GCLP lab operation, and/or assay validation for clinical applications would be preferred. Compensation: -TBD depending on credentials, background, and level of expertise in subjects making up the job description. Position includes health, dental, vision, and 401K plan.
