POSITION SUMMARY: The Referral Verification Service (RVS) Specialist is responsible for facilitating the documentation of the provider referral relationship with a 340B covered entity patient.--The RVS Specialist will insure the accurate capture of referral relationship, patient and prescription eligibility in accordance with the 340B Program requirements.--The RVS Specialist will be responsible for the utilization of Sentry software and technologies to ensure maintenance of HIPAA regulations and protection of patient's health information.--The RVS Specialist must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion. POSITION DESCRIPTION:* Utilize Sentry's Sentrex application for the identification of the prescription claims loaded into the referral verification queue of the covered entities.* Utilize internet-based databases for identification of referral provider, medical specialty, office and fax telephone numbers.* Communicate with the referral provider's office staff to acknowledge referral patient relationship, and transmission of secure electronic facsimile (eFax) of the patient referral summary.* Demonstrate proficiency in the creation, outbound transmission, and documentation of the secure electronic facsimile to insure protection of patient's protected health information. * Actively monitor for inbound eFax transmission of referral patient summary and insure documentation of referral patient summary in the patient's health record and the Sentrex referral claim. * Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of the electronic patient health information through the utilization of the secure eFax software application.* Provide strict adherence to Sentry policies and procedures for the administration of the Referral Verification Service.* Maintain record of key performance metrics of the Referral Verification Service workload and program performance. * Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the 340B program as it relates to provider referral verification requirements for documentation within the covered entity's patient health record. * Communicate with RVS leadership and team members to insure effective administration of the RVS program.--Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, processes, and customer satisfaction. * Active participant in Sentry training and continuous learning opportunities.* Performs other duties as necessary to support company or department objectives.QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:* Associate degree required or equivalent combination of related experience.* Pharmacy experience/pharmacy technician preferred. * Prior experience working in healthcare or pharmacy environment.* Strong oral/written communication, organization and time management skills.* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). * Ability to understand Sentry Data Systems' operations and business processes.* Adaptable to changes and the ability to adjust rapidly to changing conditions.* Self-motivated with a bias for action.* Ability to work independently and with limited supervision. Innovative thinking to improve status quo where necessary.* High tolerance for stress.
