Job Description:

Vascular and Interventional Specialists (VIS) is seeking a full-time or part-time, licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) at our South Miami ioffice surgery center. VIS specializes in vascular and interventional radiology services wherein minimally invasive procedures are offered utilizing the latest in technology to produce better patient outcomes while minimizing the discomfort associated with traditional forms of surgery.RESPONSIBILITIES in this position include:

• Consult with patients, complete H&P, provide patient education and prepare related reports;
• Coordinate necessary pre-procedural requirements for patients undergoing interventions;
• Assist the physician, as needed, in performing designated procedures;
• Perform minor procedures per protocol;
• Evaluate the patient's treatment plan on an ongoing basis;
• Track patients and work with referring provider offices to ensure all clinical requirements are met prior to scheduled procedures;
• Respond to patient telephone calls regarding medical conditions;
• Ensure that patient records are accurate, complete and consistent with the center's policies;
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with referring providers;
• Develop strong relationships with co-workers and other clinic staff, providing support as needed;
• Serve as an emergency backup to the center's Registered Nurses; and
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned.EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION requirements:
  • Active Florida APRN license;
  • A minimum of two years' vascular experience highly desirable; and
  • Ongoing maintenance of nursing license, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
