• Employment Type: PermanentThe Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at Deerfield Beach is currently seeking a full time Pharmacy Technician 3.SUMMARYPharmacy Technician 3 compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist. This employee performs some clerical duties relating to the department and receives and stores incoming supplies. Moreover, the incumbent verifies stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records.FUNCTIONSPrepares prescriptions for dispensing by the pharmacist and fills stock replacements.Delivers medications to hospitals and clinics and ensures medication charges are processed.Enters medication orders and charges the patient profile and MAR.Assists pharmacists in compounding and dispensing medicines of a special nature that are not readily available from the manufacturers.Assists pharmacists in the aseptic preparation of ophthalmic compounds, injectable steroids, antibiotics, and other medications.Prepares aseptically and labels IV solutions and hazardous dru in a prompt manner.Reads prescriptions promptly and ensures appropriate information is entered into the computer system to generate accurate prescription labels, profiles, and charges.Delivers and files prescription records and patient profiles, and stocks medications.Distributes and monitors medications in floor stock.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation:High school diploma or equivalent Certification and Licensing:State of FL registration; Certification in relevant specialty or fieldExperience:Minimum 4 years of relevant experience The University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission and more.UHealth-University of Miami Health System, South Florida's only university-based health system, provides leading-edge patient care powered by the ground breaking research and medical education at the Miller School of Medicine.
