Job Description
Reports to: - Chief Investment Officer and Group VP
About JM Family Investments Department: - The mission of the Investments Department is to responsibly manage JM Family's -investable -assets through adherence to a rigorous process, -building strong relationships, and promoting an intellectually stimulating collegial environment to ensure long-term value creation for all JM Family Stakeholders.
General Duties: - Responsible for day to day activities related to the non-control investment portfolio. Monitor, research, analyze and recommend actions for existing Direct Investments. Prepare and present recommendations and reports as needed for investment decision-making and to ensure that the GVP and CIO remains informed of key developments in the portfolio. Lead investment due diligence on non-control opportunities in the Direct Investment Portfolio. Conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative investment due diligence on potential investments. Prepare investment recommendations for investment committee. - Assist with review and analysis of portfolio performance reports for specific direct investments to highlight areas of over- and under-performance and to identify areas requiring in-depth analysis. Responsible for Direct investment portfolio performance reports, including analytics, exposure, performance and attribution, and other miscellaneous reports as requested.

• Consistent with the Investment Department's vision, responsible for day-to-day activities, leadership and development of Direct Reports.
  
• Provides guidance to Direct Reports on a proactive basis (minimum quarterly basis) with respect to their work product related to new and existing investments.
  
• Contributes to strategic planning, direction and goal setting for the investment department. Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant positive impact.
  
• Responsible for Portfolio Monitoring: including performance reporting, analytics, exposure, performance and attribution, and other miscellaneous reports with respect to the Direct Investment Portfolio. -
  
• Present monthly, quarterly, year-end, or ad-hoc reports as needed.
  
• Monitor capital markets and economic conditions and makes recommendations as applicable. -
  
• Maintain a deep pipeline of prospective strategies aligned with JM Family's investment priorities. - Monitor the forward calendar of new funds from current and new investment managers for sourcing direct investments.
  
• Work collaboratively with legal, operations, and corporate departments on legal negotiations for new investments.
  
• Responsible for investment monitoring activities for existing non-control direct investments and preparing investment review notes and highlight areas of over and under performance. -
  
• Manage all aspects of investment reporting to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  
• Create and maintain deal tear sheets for all existing investments.
  
• Performs research and analysis on investment strategies upon request or as assigned.
  
• Responsible for Direct Investment Committee meeting materials, investment strategy presentation and other related direct investment portfolio presentations to internal/external stakeholders.
  
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
  
  Job Requirements
  
  • 
    
  • 7+ years of related investment management / analytical experience.
    
  • MBA/CFA /CAIA/ designation strongly preferred.
    
  • Prior private equity co-investment experience strongly preferred.
    
  • Strong sense of teamwork.
    
  • Exceptional knowledge of MS Office Products.
